It's probably the valve seals that are wearing and allowing oil to pass through. No big deal. Spending $5 for oil every month or so is much cheaper than spending $1500+ for a questionable engine, which might have the same problem.

Look in the rearview mirror during long down hills with no throttle. If you see a cloud forming, it is the valve seals :)

Just drive what you have, and do not baby it. Check your PVC system, vacuum lines, etc. And carry a quart or 2 of oil with the spare tire, just in case you need some and are not at home.
