Analysis of V70 ball joint failure - SCANTECH Responds! V70-XC70 2001

I got a call about 4:15 this afternoon from Eric Long, an engineer with ScanTech.
He offered to send me a replacement ball joint or other good and valuable considerations
and would like very much to look at the ball joint himself. He's going to send me a prepaid shipping label.
He obviously had no trouble finding me!
We discussed the situation and he was very pleased to find that I have the box the joint came in,
which he would also like to have. I also agreed to send him the removed OEM ball joint
so that he could see the difference in apparent quality.
There is a lesson to be taken from this-
THERE IS NO PRIVACY ON THE INTERNET so be careful what you put up!!
Make sure it is factual and that opinions are well backed up.
Flames can certainly burn YOU!!

I will not send the ball joint to him until I have had a chance to get some good pix. I'll post them when I do. I may also send him a pic of the damage to the car.....
