AC compressor & flashing lights 850 1994

I vacuum out the passenger air temp sensor under the grab handle 417 and now have the blower working normally, yes. Cleared the codes but I'm still not getting cold air. I drove the car with the AC on the air eventually started to get cool but not cold. As I watch the compressor with the car idling, AC on, the compressor would only turn once or twice then it would stop for awhile, the bread fix tabs are still attached. I haven't have someone check to see if I had enough freon in it. But, I did try to add some more freon but the gauge move to the yellow alert side which indicates there is enough freon, right? Could the serpentine belt have something to do with it, there is about 43K on it? The compressor might be toast? Thanks for all your help.
