After washing down the engine, it will not start. Help! S70 1998

Mechanic? HA, why when you can do the fix yourself...

The engine bay could still be wet, which might be causing the no start. Leave the car on run (not on start, position II if i recall correctly) for a minute or so to let the diagnostics start up. Is the check engine light or anything on?

I'm hoping you didn't wash with the pressure washer, but if you did you get to check more stuff!

Your car needs 3 things to run, fuel, spark, and compression. Because your car ran yesterday and you shut it of normally I'd have to assume that compression is fine. That leaves fuel, another easy one, and spark. The easiest way to test that you're getting fuel is after you try to start a couple of times, leave the key on run and go to your engine bay, on the drivers side edge of the fuel rail. There you will find a plug where you could put a gauge. I'm guessing you don't have one, but for simplicities sake just use a small screwdriver or something to push it in for a split second, some fuel should spray out (its about 40psi so don't use your finger, and dont hold it long, just enough to verify that gas sprays).

Assuming this passes, Pull out your plugs, how do they look? Black and full of soot, soaked with fuel, or normal. Odds are if they're soaked you have a problem with your ignition somewhere. Likely just water, so keep your hood open all day and let it dry in the hot texas sun!

I'm also assuming you checked the fuses up in the engine compartment?

Hopefully one of these things will narrow it for you otherwise i can give you more to check... :-)
