Check engine / P0755 code 850 1997

My wife's 850 had the flashing tranny light arrow and then it threw a check engine code 0755. 1997 GLT lpt turbo

The flashing arrow went out, and after I disconnected the battery, I still get the check engine P0755 code. Tranny fluid level is good, and looks ok.

Is there anything I should check before going at the solenoid? I don't drive the car very much, but it does seem like it may not be going into overdrive. When on highway in "3", it did drop rpm's when I put it in "D", but it still seemed like it was revving high.
