Volvo Battery questions?? 850 1996

The original battery on my '96 850T has started to lose it's punch. It is a Volvo battery, and I plan on replacing it this week before the cold weather sets in.

My questions are: Who makes the batteries that bear the Volvo name??

Would I be better off with an aftermarket brand??

I have always been partial to Interstate Batteries, and have always gotten good service out of them. I live in such a hot summer climate that I really need a battery that can be maintained, and not one of the sealed varieties.

Any feedback and opinion is appreciated.
