Climat Control Dying? 850 1993

Here's another problem, my heater blows nicely but I cannot adjust to where I direct the flow whether it be defrost or to the feet or panel vents. I turn the knob but there's no response. Has anyone evere encountered this before? I'm really not willing to replace the whole unit if there are any alternatives. Thanks
