bad brake booster? ALL 94

I have not driven my 855 much lately, but the last few drives I noticed that the brake feel was much stiffer than I remember. The wagon has 205k miles and I replaced the front rotors and pads at about 185 k miles and the rears at about 170 k miles.

The car has also had a less than stellar idle recently and when deccelerating it has an abrubtness to it as I let off the gas pedal. My thinking is that I may have a bad vacuum booster, or perhaps one of the lines is leaking.

Has anyone had experience with the booster. It looks to be a bear to remove. Any ideas about testing the unit before removal? Thanks,

claude

ps, I also suspect a sticky rear caliper due to one uneven rotor surface, but don't think this is making the brakes stiff.
