Re: Engine detailing & cleaning 850 1995

Steve,

The soap I use for washing is very mild and only one squirt in a bucket will do the job. The alternative of course is to purchase any of the paint friendly soaps at the local car shop. This method has worked for twenty years on my 240 which now is winning awards. Funny thing about detailing, the subject is like tires with many options and opinions. The editor of the newsletter approached me because detailing is something you never read about at length, most owners are secretive about there methods and even go as far as using generic spray bottles without revealling the product inside. I visited your site, and your S70 is certainly in show condition. The engine compartment looks great! It's good to hear you use 3M products...I swear by them. I live on a street with a lot of "car guys" and have learnt a lot from them, including some of what I shared in the detailing article. Have you heard the old saying: "a car is never finished, and never clean enough!"
