Snowflake light on Dash? S70 2000 GLT-SE

Hi fellow brick owners.

What is the orange snowflake light in the instrument panel for? It came on this morning and I looked in the owners manual could not find anything. Does it mean that the outside temperature is below freezing? My model already has a "trip computer" that gives a digital temperature reading of outside conditions. Is it related to the temperature of the motor and I should let the engine warm up before driving?

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I am sincere in my inquiry.

Jeff
