LOL. Time to invest in some pruning shears? I have never seen a Volvo resonator grow hair, regardless of age. And some of them around here have tripple your mileage.

So long as it doesn't get too loud back there, I wouldn't worry too much. If the muffler is stock, call the dealer and see if he has heard of it. Also call Volvo N.A. just to keep them aware of a potential problem - ask for a 100K sticker while you are on the phone.
