Re: CD Changer cable S40-V40 2001

Alberto, the Apline will not be able to use the Volvo CD changer cable. The CD changer side of the cable is different than the Alpine. The Alpine changer comes with its own cable. That is the cable you want to use in conjunction with an appropriate adapter that goes between the Volvo radio unit and the Alpine cable. This all assumes that your car still uses the good-pld SC-81x head unit and not one of those proprietary wiz-bang jobs that are in the S80s and the new '01 V70s. In those you need God to intervene to be able to use aftermarket equipment.

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions. I have successfully installed an Alpine CD changer over a year ago in my '98 S70 (SC-813 head unit) and it's been working great ever since (knock on wood).
