Heater Core V70-XC70 2000

I replaced the heater core today, used two new O-rings. My question is how tight should I make the screw that binds the O-ring block to the heater core housing. I have it tight but I could probably go tighter. I dont want to go to far. It is not leaking now and will drive around this week without replacing the kick plates so I can see things for a while. Any ideas would be helpful.
The screw is a fine thread machine screw so I assume the spot where it attaches is metal, but if its plastic I dont want to strip it.

Thanks
