Re: CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT (LAMDA LIGHT) 850 1997

Yeah, that lamda warning light pretty much means "check engine." I don't know why Volvo decided to use that symbol on 850s in certain markets (I live in Canada) instead of just the simple & obvious "check engine." When this lamp is lit, you'll be sure the Volvo techs will be hooking up their diagnostics computer to read error codes off the ECU. Could be any number of things, hope in your case it's nothing serious but DO get it checked out.
