Bilsteins and more 850 95

I installed Bilsteins on my '93 recently, which has 62,000 miles. The factory shocks on my car were Sachs (not Boge). The result is nothing short of wonderful. The ride is firm but not harsh. In fact, I felt the car from the beginning was unnecessarily harsh riding. My regret is not installing the Bilstein shocks sooner.

I've had experience with Koni's adjustable gas shock in a previous life (Porsche). The front struts were quite reliable but the standard shock for the rear of the car were prone to develop a leak at the adjustment pin. I went through three sets over a period of two years -- all replaced under warranty (I did the work myself). The third set lasted for the duration.

Net, net -- I'm quite pleased with the ride of the Bilsteins for day to day family, in town driving.
