Another Snow Tire Question V70-XC70 2000

Yes, another question about snow tires. I bought a 2000 XC this past March, so it has yet to see a snow. I live around the Wash. D.C. area, so snow is usually pretty scarce during the winter, and not too deep when we do have it. Except for the occasional big storm. My question is: Can anyone comment on how the stock Continentals do in a few inches of snow and slush? I'm considering snow tires, but don't know if they are really worth it, on top of the AWD. Thank you for any and all comments.
