AC evaporator comment V70-XC70 1998

I keep saying it is the same engineer who designed the heater blower for the 140/240 models, where people drill holes through the firewall to lube the bearings.

Put a can of dye in the AC system and wipe the bottom of the accumulator/dryer bottle with a paper towel after a couple of dry days. The bottle is known to get porous after a number of years.

I looked at my system and find dye at the low pressure port schrader valve. So, first, I am going to replace the dryer and the valve and see if that does any good. After 2 years of not having the car, and it leaked down for 4 years before that, the compressor still cycles on and off rapidly, which means that there is still some pressure in the system. If that doesn't work, I will take out the dash and replace the evaporator and resecure the dash mounts.
