I can only say that everything you said is true. Repairs are costly. For 20K you can buy a relatively fresh car that will probably last without giving you too much trouble. Trouble comes with older cars neglected by previous owners.

This car does handle the road well, you feel safer in this Swedish masterpiece. I bought my 854 '94 with 61K miles on it and I have invetsed some money in it and I am still facing more repairs on A/C evaporator.

My family likes the car a lot, so I will keep it.
