Re: amp 850 1196

Hi again

Sorry I misunderstood you.

If there's a phono "amp out" on the back of your SC811 you can plug any amp into it. However on the "Board" I read you want to plug in a CD changer. This you can't. As the output says - it's an output. This means that it sends a line signal through this output. Therefore if you send it to a CD changer, you won't get the CD sound as it's not send back to the SC811. The output is for an amplifier. If you want to hook up a CD changer you will have to use the output for a CD changer (if it has one - I don't know).

And also it will have to be a Volvo changer. As far as I know the CD changer and headunit will always have to be of the same make, due to different standards - a bit like Microsoft "If you buy Windows you will have to use Microsoft programs with it".

I believe there is another option though. I believe you use your "remote out" and send it to a specially made (I believe Sony makes these things) CD changer. The CD changer then sends the CD sound back to the head unit via the FM band. You just tune into a certain frequency on the tuner and there you will have the CD sound. Ask your local car audio dealer for details.
