Re: No Start Problem 850 94

James,

Thanks for the response. No risk of starting an argument with me. I posted this to warn others and get the word out on how to correct the problem. A flooded fuel injected engine is by nature going to be difficult to start. One of my concerns with the "excessive cranking" was the wash down of the cylinders by this excessive gasoline. Each step stacks up against getting the engine to start. First too much gas, second fouled plugs then add to this reduced compression from lack of oil and or sticky valves and possibly reduced crank RPM from an overworking battery. This is a perscription for no start. I thoght after the experience that I wished I had added a small amount of oil to the cylinders for protection and to increase compression. Your RX story confirms that this is probably a good idea. I suspect that ATF is a better choice than oil anyway.

I hope we save someone else from getting into this situation and if not, then what to do if it happens.

BTW I have a friend who has an RX7. I will pass your information on to him too.

Thanks,

Dan W.
