S70 Rear Wheel Noise??? S70 1999

Hello all... and now for something completely different.

We have a S70 glt, 130k...runs and drives like a dream, well maintained and garaged by previous owner.

Here's the dilema.. the car runs straight, tight and true, with limited road noise, no wheel pulling, no interior vibrations, straight braking...

We've noticed, only with the rear windows down, a rythimic 'rumble noise', which appears to be coming fromt the rear right wheel...yet cannot be felt in the cabin, the steering wheel, the shifter or heard with the windows up. Can't be heard standing outside the car as it passes by as well...just had new tires mounted and balanced on the alloys...can't say we've noticed it before that..but could have been there.

Strangely enough, it's non-existent with the front windows open and the backs either closed or open...

Recent inspection with car on the lift (to replace front control arms and remount tires)showed nothing obvious, with everything looking intact, connected, no tearing in any rubber sleeve anywhere...

A bit baffled here and would appreciate some input...

Thanks in advance...

B
