Help with failed shiftlock microswitch 850 96

My dealer wants $110 to replace the shiftlock microswitch on my 96 850. in searching the archives I found references to a recall repair on the microswitch.

Is there such a recall. My dealer had no idea what i was talking about when I brought this up. Any details appreciated.
