"Major" changes from MY1993 to MY1994 850s were the "slimming down" of the headlights (w/ the exception of some early production 1994s) and the introduction of the 85o Turbo in both sedan and wagon form. In addition to these, the spoiler design (in the sedans) was very different between the 1993 and 1994 models.

The 1993s did have some deficiencies (not all) in their transmissions and (in my opinion) they rode a bit harsher than the 1994s and subsequent MY 850s.
