Car failed annula emission test 850 1995

Went for annual inspection. Guys at our local garage (at a gas station) looked very hard in trying to make as much $$ as possible. One guy took my car to another station to run emission test and came back after about hour. And my car failed inspection.

Took my car home (CEL was on) and pulled codes below.

A1: 1-2-2
A2: 5-4-3
5-4-5
4-5-3
5-5-3

I was able to clear up 1-2-2 from A1; but I could not clear up codes from A2.

Seems the codes from A2 are misfire/catalytic converter related. Will replacement of catalytic converter solve the problem? The car seemed running normal (so it is really due to misfiring?).

The car has about 140k miles. Engine and transmission are pretty good. I have spent some $$ on it recently. Do you think it is time to move on to a new/newer car?

Thanks,
