another car, maybe...

Mates:
thanks for the thoughts. Druther, as would the spouse, have something with the hauling capacity and most of the road comfort of the 960. Still waiting for the prognosis from the mechs--they hide when my wife comes in with the wwagon--only the smell from the plate of home-baked yummies brings them up out of the grease pits. anyway, if the prognosis is poor, or we get another round of "bring it back when it does it again", we'll do some shopping for a V90. It's at least 125 miles to the nearest target-rich environment, so we'll plan to spend a week in Louisville in mid-October chasing V90s down the street and making offers. {Actually had a guy do that to me years ago--followed my 1940 Packard all over town until I finally stopped to see what he wanted].
Anyhow, thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking '98 or prior,non-turbo, or at most LPT if available. I have the higher pressure turbo in my S70 T5, and rarely need the acceleration; some cold days it takes longer to warm up the engine to operating temp than to drive to my office afterward.
