Throttle cable question pre 1999

The kickdown switch is actually in the boot at the firewall, and in my idiocy, I broke it doing the PCV job. It no longer kicks down in 'E' mode 2 gears, but if I flip it to sport it will.

The cruise control system on these, especially on rolling hills - is just dumb. My 1988 Honda Accord had a better cruise control system, and a lot less power to make up for those 'oh crap, I should be accelerating, I'm on a hill' moments the Volvo has.

The cable is on the small side by default. I think it's just part of the design that it requires more throttle pressure than other cars.

Is your vacuum line on the CC pump in good shape?
