1996 Volvo 850R Wagon 850 1996

I am thinking of buying a 1996 Volvo 850R wagon with all the bells and whistles and wanted to know of what to be cautious of. The car only has 38,000 miles on it and is in excellent shape, only two scratches on the entire car. It has been extremely well taken care of. The dealer is asking $22,900, but I want to know of what to look for and what can typically go wrong with all of the bells and whistles. The car has a warranty that lasts until 75,000 miles or two years, which ever comes first. In all ways it seems like a great deal. But I am worried about driving it in the snow, because I am a ski racer and wanted to use it to travel to far away ski races and trips because it has so much storage room, is so comfortable and so much fun to drive. Are the 17's good for driving in the rain/snow, or should I invest in another set of wheels with snow tires? Which is something I don't know if I can afford to do up front, but it is winter. So if you could let me know what you think that would be great.

Thanks

Brian
