FOR SALE: 2000 V70R AWD [also request for information, so please do read] V70-XC70 2000R

As some may be aware I'm in the process of moving to an MDX. Let me start out by saying that I LOVE MY V70R though. This is one awesome car. I need to get rid of it though. :-( I purchased the car the day after Thanksgiving, 1999, so I've had it for one year. Most of the mileage was done on highway. I've driven it to Maine twice and a few other trips to help get it so high. I purchased an extended warranty to help cover the high mileage, but don't remember the details. I believe it covers to 75k or 100k in 5 years.

Reasons for my insanity:

1. Need to tow 4,000 pounds

- V70R max is 3,300 pounds, while the MDX can handle 4,500. Not really a necessity per se but would be nice to NOT have to borrow my fathers SUV. I never put a hitch on this car, so it hasn't been stressed at all.

2. Need more undercarriage clearance for winters up north

- V70R has a clearance of approximately 4.4 inches. The handling is amazing for a station wagon. I drove it the morning after a 20-inch snow storm BEFORE the snow got crusty. I had no problems, but don't want to push in more extreme winter conditions. If we don't get an SUV I won't be going to the in-laws for winter holidays, hmmm. ;-)

3. Need to get higher up to make it easier for wife to drive

- My wife just got her eyesight back and it is easier for her to see what is going on around the car when she's higher up...like in an SUV. My wife cannot drive yet, so this is more in preparation for when her when she can drive {she was legally blind...sight was 20/800 in one eye and zero in the other, now 20/70 in both}.

As you can see, none of these reasons are show stoppers. I can do without switching cars, but do want to.

You can get the basic stats on the 2k V70R on www.carpoint.com or www.edmunds.com including reviews. Here's a short list of what this car has...

+ 261 horse power, 258 foot pounds torque

+ Venetian Red

+ Charcoal Leather with tan fake suede center inserts (easier to maintain than suede)

+ Automatic 5-speed (with shifting algorithm)

+ Sunroof

+ SC-901 Stereo (Dolby Pro-Logic w/ 9 speakers, 3-CD in-dash w/tape)

+ Heated power seats (very comfortable)

+ Driver's seat has 3 memory positions

+ Graphite 'R' wheels

+ {aftermarket} Saris roof rack (fits on factory roof rails)

+ 23,500 miles (approximation, mainly highway miles)

+ Basically, this car is loaded with all options except the 3rd row seat and the integrated child seats for 2nd row.

I have no idea yet what this car is worth. The 'R' models are very rare which explains why it is hard to figure out what it is worth. I'm not how many were sold, but the dealer told me 500 for MY2000.

Can anyone email with me their opinions on what they think it is worth (quantitatively, monetarily speaking of course)?

I'm interested in selling this car for an equitable sum. I'm not trying to see who I can rob blind. I believe in a fair price for this sort of thing.

I'm sincere in this. If someone is interested, let's start talking. If you have any idea how I can get a price for this car, please share!

Bill
