Updated safety rating on the 2001 S80s by NHTSA ALL 2001

As it was expected, NHTSA crash-tested the 2001 S80 and they upgraded their rating of the car, compared with their unfortunate findings of the 2000 model.

The 2001MY Volvo S80 received for the 35mph frontal crash tests NCAP two 5 stars for the front driver and passenger. This is the highest safety rating.

The 2001 S80 has already been rated by the Gov't with a 5-star rating in the side impact rating program; this is also the highest safety rating.

The IIHS has also rated the S80 as a "Good" First Pick in its frontal offset crash rating program. This is the highest safety rating.
