Yes, I agree that it really does work well; however the Volvo rack for the '94 850 works just as well and does not cause any leaks either.

I have made wooden extension bars that clamp onto the Volvo racks. For the 850 I have a set of longitudinal rails as well; very handy for bulky, relatively light items.
