Brake Lights

Have you verified current is getting to the relay for the lights? Pull off the side panel so you expose the wires and such in the trunk. Pull the relay and check that its receiving the voltage for the lights when you push the pedal (I think the sides and the top are on different circuits, but I can't remember...) If it checks out, then look from the REM to the brake light for pinched/broken/exposed wires. If it doesn't then double check the fuses, i believe the light ones are all in the passenger compartment, but it wouldn't surprise me to find the bad one in the engine bay (i don't have a fuse diagram for your car, sorry..).
