Battery replaced with Costco brand V70-XC70 1998

Hi,

I posted a message earlier with battery dead at 14K miles.

The battery is over 2.5 years and only pro-rated to 50% at Volvo dealer.

I know Volvo charges $120.00 for a new battery, which I thin is junky in quality (I had a similar problems with my ex-1991-Volvo 240).

Went to Costco in Oak Brook (West Suburb of Chicago).

The Volvo battery was not listed in the catalogue but I improvised, bought a battery (Group 48 vs 47), with a higher CCA (800 vs 525), and higher RC (120 vs 90 minutes).nient.

cn

Battery name is Kirkland (which is Costco's name), but made by Johnson Controls, which made the same Interstate Battery in my BMW 1983 735. BTW I bought this BMW's Interstate battery 4 years ago for $118.00!

This Kirkland battery is warranteed for 24 months and pro-rated to 72 months.

Only costs me $54.00!!!!

The length is slightly longer (28 vs 24 centimeters). Otherwise same size.

Works great! Anyway it is exactly the same as my BMW battery which has been working nicely for the last 4 years.

Hope this helps if you guys want a cheap but great battery, go to Costco.

Same warrantee as dealer but more conv
