engine indentification T5 S70 1998

I don't think there's one on the engine itself, but I do believe the timing belt cover has one on it (but the plastic is easy to switch from a different engine..) Is the turbo still on the car, or did they decide to sell you that separately? If you can get a part number off the turbo it'll tell you if its the HPT (as it should be) 86013238, 8601691, 8602395 all correspond to various years of the b5234t3 that you're supposed to put in the '98 t5...

Get it in writing from the junkyard. I've never had a place that wouldn't confirm that the part was correct.

If you're not driving it "like its stolen," are you really driving?
