just a bit off topic, but what the hell S70 2000/GLT

As a guy who likes to watch nice cars go by, and in parking lots and stuff, I have seen more than a few Audi’s with a extra piece on the front license plate frame. This is a plastic unit that mounts to the top two plate frame bolts.....it is about 1 inch high, 4 inches long, and about 1/2 inch deep. I am not 100% sure, but I think I have seen the same "unit" on other(high end Euro)cars. I thought it could be a remote of some kind.....Val-1 radar, Home-link, etc.....I am just not sure...and you know how that is....I cant stop thinking about it until I know exactly what it is.

Now....with all the Audi people on the BB, I am sure one of you guys knows what it is, and can fill me in.
