Re: Please Help - Radio Lights Question & Outside Temp ALL 2000

I'm kind of confused, your car with the burnt out radio lights is a 97?

If so, your lights are NOT covered under warranty, BUT (and this is a big but), I called around to dealers until I found one that would replace the whole unit under warranty, because they said the radio couldn't be opened... bla bla. I just told the dealer closest to me that the "other place would do it" and they caved. I got it fixed under warranty (was a 45K mi old 97R).

Sidenote: This is pretty cheesy, but I was worried with all of the evap problems people seemed to be having earler this Summer, and I might have hinted that my A/C was acting up and they just went ahead and replaced the evap under warranty, too. I have no problem with that! Gotta love that Volvo service!

Anyway, back to your problems...Since the V70's started (98), the lights ARE under warranty as far as I know. They told me this and it didn't make me happy (because I have a 97). That's life.

As for the temp problem, yes the sensor is under the hood (it got moved in '98 to the passenger mirror, I think). Your sensor sounds like it's screwed up with it reading around +14 deg F. Mine only reads +4 or 5 deg F if the car has been stopped for a while, then it cools as you drive.

Good luck,

Kyle
