Re: Check Engine Light and Air Pump 850 1996

C,

Thanks for the reply. I checked with the dealer and with Volvo NA and was told the Air Pump was not covered under the emissions warranty. I then check on the EPA's site and got the following:

"There are three specified major emission control components,

covered for the first 8 years or 80,000 miles of vehicle use on 1995

and newer vehicles:

* Catalytic converters.

* The electronic emissions control unit or computer (ECU).

* The onboard emissions diagnostic device or computer (OBD). "

It appears everything else is covered by a 2-year or 24,000 miles warranty which is normally superseded by the manufacture's own warranty. I guess I'll be attacking that air pump this weekend!

Thanks,

meb

p.s. Will look at the PAIR valves you mentioned. I assume this is the Pulsed/Secondary Air Injection valves.
