Thank you Klaus...

The Airpump only works if I put 12 volts directly to its connector. The
vacume soleniod energises, opens and pass vacume to operate the valve,
and if you disconnect the air input hose (to the valve) you can hear the exhaust, if uremove the vacume(pipe) connection it, it closes and you dont hear the exhaust.

Main problem is hat the air pump does not get its power supply switched
via some relay etc.?

I am going to check around once more. Maybe I am chasing me own tail,
I do that often.
