1998 S70 lambda sond light on S70 1998

Just bought this car for my daughter to drive to her new job in Kentucky, about 800 miles from here. I have a few weeks to straighten it out. Have it one day and the Lambda sond light came on and stays on. Car has 88,000 miles and is a non turbo. Gas gauge appears to be in liters w/ a max of 70 at the full mark. I have never seen this before. I read a few posts about vacuum leaks under the battery box and at the vacuum canister. Anywhere else? Anything else I should look at? I plan to pull a plug tomorrow and see if it's running rich...will it be obvious? I may take it for a short trip and check the mileage. I have 2 other s70s, a 98 w/159,000 and a 2000 with 108,000 and never had emission system issues. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
