Burned board in climate controller 850 1993

A 1993-1995 module will work for you if you still want to communicate to the ECC module; any year from 93-97 will work if you don't care about that functionality (personally I think it's helpful on the older models). These things blow up a lot for no explainable reason.

Look around on Ebay; parts for Volvos are up for sale all the time there.

You can also try Erie Vo-vo or Vands Auto Dismantlers, two used Volvo part suppliers. They both have online sites and will ship parts.

Once you get a new module in, before running it too much clear ALL codes from the B1 port and run it a few times and look for new codes showing up. Sometimes if the resistor or fan are drawing too much current they can burn up the ECC module as well.

Good luck!
