I had my "indy" guy go over my car right before my warranty expired. He - or his wife - drives a '98 V70, same year as mine. I had the same complaint about engine noise. He says it's the fuel injectors, and noted that he had had a brand new '01 V70 in his shop for an oil change that was even louder!

Amazing that a Camry costs 1/2 as much and you can't even HEAR the engine when it's running!

BTW, about that stereo light....lightbulbs are not warranteed after the first year, so you can imagine what the bill looks like if you are unfortunate enough to have one of the dash lights burn out!
