do not take it apart what ever you do because then it is toast.loosen the screws that hold the housing in about two turns and then see if it will lock in again.if not take the housing out and make sure the tabs are locked into place on the side of the housing,you will see where they lock in.again do not take this piece apart once the spring lets go it is garbage.make sure the tabs on the side of the housing are locked into place and maybe lubricate them abit to get everything moving again since you hardly ever use it.
