Re: Tire ratinga and performance 850 1996

Most of the discussion here is focussed on the top-speed ratings of the tires. Several people have commented along the lines of "I NEVER go anywhere 150 mph (or whatever), so I really don't need a higher rated tire".

I followed that logic once and was bitterly disappointed. I bought H tires to replace V ones. I found that the car performed like it was driving through pudding. Every time I went into a curve, I kicked myself for my foolish move.

Unless you want to be constantly reminded of your own foolish penny-pinching, get the better-performing tires. The performance aspect is much more meaningful than the top-speed ratings. You will realize this every time you drive the car.

We all enjoy driving our Volvos. We all have a limited time on earth to do things like driving. Don't blow it just to save a few bucks here. Save elsewhere.
