John, The Alpine CHMs-620 will work with all the changer controls on the SC-816. A "Alp-Vol" type of cable will need to be used, but anyplace that sells the changer, also sells the patch cable. Take a look at www.cdchangers.com, or www.discountcarstero.com

The changer itself can be mounted in the glove box, or the trunk.

Total cost for the changer, cable, & shipping should be less than, or right at about $350USD.
