thanks for all the responses - upon inspection i found that the vacuum line to the PTC nipple was disconnected and that there was a tear in the intake hose from the intercooler to the intake manifold - reconnected the vacuum line and gave the intake hose a silicone implant until i can get a new one - seems to idle much better now :)
