Going from 99 to 2000 V70/ Difference in model? V70-XC70

Greetings
My 1999 v70 wagon was rear-ended by a woman checking her cell phone. This collapsed the left main beam upon itself just ahead of the wheel. I am buying a 2000 V70 from a reputable dealer and declining the one year warranty which costs $600 and only covers things that never break.

At 119,000 miles, my 99 V70 blew the ABS module about two weeks after it blew the ETM which Volvo reimbursed me for four or five months later ( just the part $750 )

In going from a 99 to year 2000 model, am I going into any major differences or potential lemon episodes ? These many stories about 2001 tranny issues are making me a little nervous.

Thanks for your time in answering this
