Snowstorm!! LSD questions... V70-XC70 2000

Well finally a snowstorm is hitting the Ottawa-Hull area in Canada as I'm writing this letter.. I've just got back from bringing over my rented movies and spared some time gaining back some AWD driving experience on the snowy roads. As usual, the SnowTank left behind a lot of SUV's, 4x4 pickups and those annoying rice boys spinning the hell out in their Civics and Integras. At some point though, I got a little scared when I managed to make a left turn then all of a sudden the rear end started fishtailing. Glad I could recover quickly or else, I could've hit a car in the opposite lane. I've had the same story last year when entering a parking lot, right turn, accelerated to somewhere around 20 Kmph and weeeee, there goes the back again. Are you guys experiencing the same situation with your AWD's? I must admit, there is absolutely no weight in the back, perhaps a couple of sand bags would help? And about the LSD, isn't it suppose to "disengage" when facing such a situation in order to get the torque back to the front wheels to recover properly? I'm still a rookie with AWD, so I thought I'd try decelerating a little instead of letting off the accelerator completely to recover. Would that be a proper driving technique in this case? Other than that, this car is a dream come true. I can't figure out those horror stories I keep reading around here when I got such a "ringer". Maybe I have a lemon? ;-)

Thanks and happy ADWing! :)
