2003 V70 AWD V70-XC70

So within the last week I have noticed that the ignition has gotten quite stiff, so when I am switching from position II into III to start the car sometimes I feel a bit of resistance, looked at the current key I am using and it looks pretty worn down so I tried the spare key I have, and there is less resistance but still a little say every other time I use it. Does this mean my ignition is going out, need to get key recut, etc? Otherwise I can't find any other problems and the car is operating fine.
Thanks for any info in advanc3.
