Hot air temp 850 1996

Temperature gauges no longer show real time data like in the great old cars. They show only an average and if the gauges move up or down, it is only because of a wild swing in actual temperature.

Your problem is vent related, or more properly, damper. When you have the vent setting at auto or feet, it should not blow much out of the center vent. When my 1998 is cold, air only comes out at the feet, when the car warms up then some air begins to trickle out at the dash.
