What could cause car to stop running? 850

I have just recently purched 97 850 sedan. Drove fine for 3 weeks and idiot ligts all flashed on night before it cut out on highway. Had it towed and mech. claimed it was just a loose alt. wire that was actually also corrodide. Two days later same thing happened. Could it be fuel pump relay or computer module? Same thing happened to me with a 91 240 and it was computer module. Mike
