oil leaks on V70 V70-XC70 2001

can running the cruise control for a couple of hours cause oil leaks or a transfer case to fail?? i have 150,000 on my car and i drove the it with the cruise control, around 70 MPH, and now she is burning excess oil. i just had the transfer case replaced, and an o ring for the turbo return line replaced in the last 2 weeks. any ideas from all you Brick mechanics??
